what's a good quality EQ for such a system?

If you have a streamer with digital EQ and room EQ that should work. Analog EQ could add noise unless you don't mind analog.

The BHK is neutral. I would take it one step at a time before replacing everything.

I don't have a functioning streamer. My Mark Levinson 5101 SACD player / streamer / DAC combo is my primary source. However, the 'Music Stream' app that controls it all does not play well with Tidal and constantly crashes and doesn't sound good when working.

So my primary source of music is the CD player on the Mark Levinson 5101.

I am trying to figure out what to start with, the speakers now have 150 hours on them. Do I start with speaker cables, or interconnect cables? The room is average as far as treatment goes. I can't convert it into a studio since it is our home as well.

@onehorsepony I would start with cables that are on the amplifiers - power cords, speaker cables, interconnects. 
But again, unless you have 200hrs on the speakers, I wouldn’t touch a thing. You just don’t know what the sound is and in what direction you should be going with any upgrades. 

I'm not, I'm just letting them run when I go out, I have about 150 hours on them now.
