Mundorf (non-oil) Silver / Gold EVO MCap Supreme coupling caps in your tube amp ???

Anyone have good luck with these caps in your tube amp?

>> Mundorf (non-oil) MCap Supreme EVO Silver/Gold coupling capacitors << .22uf / 1000VDC

Previously tried Clarity MR caps and Jensen Copper Oil caps in my prior (same brand) tube amp with decent success. The Jensen oils were nice and a bit more syrupy sounding than my former Clarity caps, were too harsh for me. Looking for something in between. Normally I almost always prefer oil caps; maybe not this time. We will see. For my newer tube amp, a few folks who modify/upgrade Cary tube amps recommended installing these Mundorf (non-oil) Silver Gold Supreme EVO caps - reportedly for a bit more "open and extended air, ,with more bass, and still retaining a nice lush sound" as compared to my former Jensen oil caps. I did listen to my exact same tube amp with similar tube compliment with high-end V-Caps and it was a bit too lean for my taste. I’m hoping these new EVO caps sit somewhere in between and still retain a nice smooth sound.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Dear @decooney  : "

"65 hours" of burn-in cap forming, settling in - is not enough.

No joke - give it 200hrs and you'll find these particular caps will continue to form and settle even up to 300hr  "

I don't know where you read that true joke. A true cap as Wima or Vishay needs no more than 3-5 hours and not "to form ".

I think that like me you need to learn by your self making caps tests including the Wima.

What other audiophiles/gentlemans said is not about a true cap but " other passive device " that they named capacitor.

Don't beloeve me but make those tests by your self. I you don't like it at least you will know youare "rigth " and if you like then you improve your knowledge audio levels.

Only and opinion trying to help.

@rauliruegas my caps are paid for and already formed and settled on all of my current amps, and priors, so I'm good.  I don't have any problems looking for new solutions right now. Best Luck and Happy Listening

Dear @decooney   : Sorry to disturb you again.

" already formed and settled on all of my current amps,...."  " after 300 hours " or the like.

You insist in something that does not make sense and that does not exist in your kind of caps: " formed "

You posted 200-300 hours and other gentlemans as you that own tube electronics said for years that " myth/rumor " that you are still spreading with out any single foundation to help other Agon members. LooK:

after 300 hours to began to listen those caps your tube electronics surely sounds different but not because the caps are " formed " but because those tubes changed a little or to much its quality performance levels and the other thing is that your memories after 300 hundred hours almost fail/fall completely to trust on it.

Just the imagination of all of the other " thousands " of " audiophiles " that own tube electronics and that spreaded the same " myth " as you.

No myth or rumor that is talking about for years can convert in a TRUE, no way my friend and that’s why I posted that why do not tell us where do you read that " rumor ".

Please do it a favor and read on these links and think how your tubes ( the tube ) electronics can change after 300 hours and not only your electronics but the electric power affects too and obviously your mood levels that certainly are not equal that 300 hours before the last listen sessions:

I already gave you information of Wima that’s a industry standard as Vishay too, not the " high end " caps that need to be " formed ". Sorry.

To rauliruegas your analysis does not apply. I mod my own amps and tube wear does not apply here.

I have four quads of different sets of output tubes and input tubes I use, and the first set is for burn-in of the new amps, transformers, caps. Same process on the last three amplifier and pairs of monos.  It’s not about tubes changing when I’m installing new tube sets in the amps after the first 250-300 hours. I put them in storage and break out the new tube sets in each case.

I’m not interested in other caps, and super happy with my last four sets of Mundorf Evo Silver-Gold caps on my last four tube amplifiers. They are fantastic.  Best for you to move on and advertise somewhere else.  Good Luck. Happy listening.

@decooney   : I'm not advertasing nothing. Till now you have no single anwser of that caps " formed " and you have not because is a myth and if not then please tell us what is need to e formed and why.

Your last post about means nothing.

You was who first posted here that false " formed " not me.
