Favorite Beatles Song

Mine is Hey Jude

tough question. I like top 5, top 10 lists better, easier to be fair.

I once read somewhere that Here Comes The Sun has been played more times, worldwide, than any other song ever. Not sure how they would assess it.

I find it astonishing that the Beatles and their contemporaries were born during WWII in serious poverty and broken families and it shows. The depth, the bittersweet melodies, the humility, kindness and empathy are the essence of their songs, they have been connecting humans for over half a century.

For me the Beatles is primarily’s Paul and his voice with the band’s harmony behind it. Let It Be may well be the most beautiful and perfect song, ever written.
Stones, ELO, Queen, U2’s best ones not too far behind it.

will anyone still be listening to the Beatles and all the Classic Rock bands?

not sure how much humanity has left with the decisions they are making, leaders they are choosing, but as long as humans are around, Beatles will too for sure.

Tried to stop at five and then eight (days a week). Settled on a top 10 that spans most of their discography instead:

@parkergetdean - That sounds more like a description of 'Yesterday' which I believe has been covered more than any other song ever.

@larsman yes you may be right and I may be projecting. I never liked Yesterday. Do you mean covers or the actual song?

I do mean covers, from all around the world, but I would guess that that would go along with the original getting more plays than any other one, all around the world. 'Here Comes The Sun' is a great song, but I wouldn't even think it would be in the running for that. I once liked 'Yesterday', and still do but very much overplayed. I definitely prefer it to Paul's ballads like 'Long and Winding Road' and 'Let It Be' (I don't much like anything on 'Let it Be' except 'Across the Universe').
