Help With Modifcation of PS Audio DirectStream MK1

Hi, All.  I wouldn't ordinarily ask here for a  referral,  but I truly am at a loss. I have a PS Audio DirectStream  Dac MK1. The seller threw in an upgrade of  EDCOR XS4400 transformers that supposedly improve the dac to nearly the level of PS Audio's MKII .  I thought I could put them myself, but after reading a few posts I've decided (wisely, I think), to seek a trusted pro for the install.  I would really appreciate a recommendation here in the LA/Orange Ca area.  From what I've learned its a pretty simple install for a pro.  Please forgive the pandering here, like I said, I wouldn't ask it if I'd hadn't  tried many many avenues already.  My thanks in advance.

Don’t know whether he’s here in CA but JK Richards is active on the forum and specializes in modding the PS Audio dacs.  He should be able to do this.

Otherwise, Mitchell Singerman is in LA area. He may be retired by now but might be able to refer you to someone. I’m sorry but I don’t have his contact info.

Thanks so much.  I took a stab at a local Audio-Visual tech repair shop in Huntington Beach because they assured me they could do the job (and I thought, its pretty easy, just soldering the EDCORs into the right palace, but honestly, I’ve been kind of worried.

When I got there some older gentlemen tech guy looked at the unit and exclaimed, "what?, thats a dac?  You don’t need something like that..." and proceeded to take a small palm-sized piece of electronics off a shelf and say, "..see, that?  thats all you need".  I was about to take my DirectStream the hell out of there when a younger guy, I believe the manager, walked out and dismissed the older tech and said he has a  "tech who could take care of it.  So, I told them to please call me if they run into an issue and left it there.  I just hope to god I haven’t made a mistake.
