Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it is Environmentally IRRESPONSIBLE to leave your equipment on for long periods of time, before or after, or truly despicable, ON all the time!

On, 20 mins, listen, done, off!

Doctors, Lawyers, Trust Fund Kiddos, come on now.

Where were you in 1970?, I was there in Manhattan (went to college at Pratt in Brooklyn 1966-1970)

@samureyex There is also a very simple solution: A child tax, so the inverse of a tax credit.

If we think that cars need to be taxed because they pollute, if we think air travel needs to be taxed because it pollutes, then we have to put the biggest tax on parents for having children, because they pollute massively.

Needless to say, politically DOA.

@oberoniaomnia The idea is right but I don’t support any idea of tax for 2 simple reasons:

1) We already get taxed out of the bumhole.

2) Tax dollars just magically entered politicians or corporation’s pockets.

I do believe 5 kids is extreme, I don’t have a word for 9 kids. If someone has that many kids, it is their own responsibility to feed and shelter them. No one else should carry that burden.

If you are really beautiful and make beautiful children, or you're some kind of genius and we need more of that brain. Then perhaps we could get a state exemption.

@samureyex ,

"..I could(n’t) care less how much electricity is being spent or heat that is being generated."

"You think I don’t care about using energy efficiently?"

Well, yeah. Since you literally stated it.

About 50mil new vinyl records were sold in the US in 2025. Obviously the number of records manufactured was much higher.
Significant amounts of pollution is bringing produced by these factories. Tons of electricity is being used. All equipment used was manufactured using a combination of natural resources and recycled. All of which produces a schiit ton of polution. Workers driving to these plants in their cars burn fuel and pollute the environment.
I propose we boycott buying new vinyl records.

The AI we all use now almost daily requires installations that consume enormous amounts of energy to power the processors. As AI evolves and is implemented throughout large corporations IT and other areas, the energy consumption will increase exponentially. Boycott AI.

When you buy your next appliance that’s made in china where they consume energy and don’t give two schiits about the environment, think about washing your dishes or close by hand and air dry that stuff.

In the winter just dress in layers in your house. Turn the heat down.

I’ll think about how long it really takes my system to warm up and how long I should listen for. I’ll draw my own conclusions on how long to keep my components on
