Should AI generated posts be banned or otherwise regulated?

Let us all love and respect our AI overlords…

No but seriously, One thing I like about Agon is it’s people talking to people.  There isn’t much of the slop that’s on Facebook. Here if I have a question people (intelligent or not) will answer me and I truly appreciate that.

AI is like everything else, its acceptability depends on how it’s used.

For instance, in this thread @hilde45 demonstrated an intelligent use of AI by showing us AI’s opinion of AI’s value to an audio-centric forum.

On the other hand, you have those people who literally cut-and-paste 3000 words of garbage in posts so interminable just scrolling through them puts you at risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Maybe those people also unzip in public and relieve themselves on parked cars whenever the mood strikes them. it’s offensive and discourteous to others, but so what? It’s quick and convenient! Same like pasting AI!

I think the answer is not in more rules and bans and enforcement, it is in members setting up etiquette, organically, and gently nudging folks in the right direction.

I asked AI if it should be banned on AGON and it said no. FWIT I asked AI if the DBob was compatible with my PCM Yiggy and it said yes. I asked yysantabarbra  and he said he tried two Schiit DAC’s and both failed due to compatibility issues. Cheers , Mike B
