Sonus faber - Amati suprema?

Anybody heard this very expensive speaker? Is it that much better than the Amati G5?

@mgrif104

sure no problem and thanks for the help…I have the Meinter MA3i dac, two amps the First Watt Sit-4 and the Pass Labs XA-25 which also can be sold, the speakers are the Volti Audio Lucera which he just raised the price to 15k with 750$ or $1000 shipping charge and also the Volti Razz going for 8500…couple years on the Razz and about a year with the Lucera..I just can’t listen to those speakers…

was hoping to keep the XA-25 it’s a great amp, the Sit-4 probably at least 3500, the Razz around 6k the Lucera around 9k…..some where around there…

Given the equipment you have, you should be able to get into an Amati Tradition or Serafino within your budget. They have essentially the same tonality - the latter better for somewhat smaller spaces. And, you might even be able to pick up a pair of good condition pre-owned Il Cremonese within your budget. What’s your room size?

If you really can’t audition them beforehand, I’d suggest you consider purchasing a pre-owned pair which you’d be able to sell for roughly what you purchased them for if you didn’t like them.

 charles007100 , there are nice SF speakers in the Olympica series or these AMAZING bookshelf SF speakers. See link below.. I auditioned the Amati G5 AND some similar priced B&W speakers (Mid $30k) and the B&W were too "shrill" or top freq rich. too bright may be a better term? .. for MY taste. They are super popular speakers and beautiful. But for me,  the SF are much more subtle, rich, soft..

But for UNDER $15k these are awesome (see first link below), i heard them hooked up to a very nice Mcintosh ma12000 integrated amp i was seriously considering. the bass in these BOOKSHELF speakers is astounding.. enough adjectives.. lol I think you’d love these and at $12k are a good buy https://www.sonusfaber.com/en/products/electa-amator-iii

Here are the floor standing and many under $15k ..https://www.sonusfaber.com/en/speakers/floorstanding  the Sonetto series was what i meant, NICE floorstanding and i have the smaller Sonetto bookshelf that i’m using for rear HT speakers. Lovely.

My system is in my living room, probably where the system is about 20 ft long and I sit about 13 ft back … my goal is to mellow out my music but not be disappointed and still love the music.. my hearing is really good just have that jet airplane in my ears

I’ve never understood the term being more musical with respect to speakers. Does that mean it takes the signal coming through the cable and colors it more than a more clinical studio speaker? Does it mean it’s more enjoyable to listen to?

Seems it’s just a strange term to describe a speaker.
