Not a surprise that using the creative side of your brain aids in brain health.

Exercise leads to physical health, using ones mental and memory capacity helps metal health, so it should come as little surprise the exercising ones creative side helps keep ones brain young at heart. Listening to music among them.

Happily in retirement I enjoy bike riding, hiking with the dogs, oil painting, reading and writing. This seems to be my natural tendency. I assume most audiophiles pursue a host of activities?

I have too many interests but the biggest mental challenge is Golf. The swing has challenged scientists for years.

I do find it interesting that golf addicts are very similar to audiophiles in that they are prone to snake oil. The industry, in order to sell product, every year comes out with new, better and more expensive products promising game improvement. Even though they hit the limits of distance years ago they still advertize "the longest clubs and balls...ever made! You must have them if you really want improvement. Lots of subjective 'click bait' instruction also.

Exercising both brain and body is crucial always!

I’ll be retiring in May, hoping to achieve similar retirement bliss.wink

Music will continue to play a key role for me.   Maybe bigger than ever.  We will see how it all plays out.  I’m in excellent shape sound-wise so that’s a big +.

I used to golf.  Then I had kids, mostly grown up now. Maybe again.

I walk a lot.  I read and think about what i read.

I dont feel old except for my body a bit...

My main interest before my retirement and after was a challenge : building a relatively satisfying system/room at no cost...

I had done it mainly exploring acoustics  applied and theoretical...

Now my challenge is understanding A.I. and using it for my ideas in mathematics.

I listen music now no more frustrated by "bad sound" ... Then i come backhere because of the people, i cannot say i am in the same  excitation for products, or any audiophile project, my goal was reached...

I walk my 2 dogs too .... One is Boris, we saved him after mistreatment and he is devoted to my wife in an astounding way... We adopted Rita a Cuban female dog  from Havana very typical  race there ...

We do not picked or choose Rita when we take her, there was many dogs proposed for adoption, we let Boris make the choice... A good idea, they are in love and eat on the same plate and slept glued to one another ....smiley

I use headphone and small speakers and i started a thread recently  about Schumann generators  even if i feel less engaged in the hobby , because i implemented them as i did in my first room and the effect is the same ... The cost is peanuts... And the generators gave something nothing else can gave ... An acoustic cherry to the acoustic cake...
