Anyone own one of these preamps ?

My buddy is looking to upgrade his preamp and is considering these.   We’ve both read the various reviews, I’m just reaching out to see who might have personal experience with any of them.    Any positive or negative feedback is welcome.
(He’s open to s/s or tube/hybrid).  Obviously he will also assess what will be a good match to the rest of his system, but here we’re just looking for personal exposure to any of them.   Some are still current models, others would be used:

— Benchmark LA4 (half-chassis footprint is annoying lol)

— Anthem

— Rogue Audio RP-9

— Ayre Acoustics KX-8

— Herron VTSP-360

Thanks all!

I believe you should try if possible the CODA 0.7x preamp.  I just got mine three days ago and it's been eye opening for me.  I loved my Pass-Labs XP-22 however for my taste in music presentation, the 0.7x really fills the bill and it's less expensive than the XP-22.  Vocals sound more believable, and high instrument notes are sparkling without harshness.  I also noticed some improvement in the mid-bass range for lack of a better term, body.  I highly recommend you read others comments here and in What's Best Audio/Video Forum about it.  I'm hearing the same things in my system that they've cited, and my 0.7x isn't even broken in yet.  For me, this was a great purchase...

The only obvious feature difference I can see with the Herron is the lack of any balanced inputs (RCA only)….

Backert Labs. Lots of connectivity for whatever direction your system might go. Do some research. Rarely seen on the used market.

@longplayer thanks that’s an interesting one I hadn’t seen before.   Do you own one of these?  Which model?
