Auralic Aries G2.2 - Market-Worthy or Not?

auralic streamers do sound superb, and are exceptionally well built

i have chosen to keep my various auralic units -- the lightning app is stable, roon works great, there are many useful and practical control options (4 very audiblly relevant filter setting, oversampling, and so on) -- auralics have also optimized their wifi connectivity whereas so many other top tier streamers allow hardwire lan only

one downside to mention is that the aries streamers do not have i2s, which is the fashionable connection protocol adopted by many newer dacs, so those who play 'the newest greatest dac of the month' game may not like this aspect

i personally am not concerned or fixated about some money tied up in the auralic streamers though of course their used values have dropped considerably (from pretty pricey levels when the company was operating)

Do you think I would get rid of my OPPO 105 just because they stopped making them years ago? I think not! If your happy with the Auralic then use it til you cant anymore. I come from the "If its not broke ,dont fix it" camp. 

P.S. if you must the only real option IMO is a Aurender music server using a DAC of your choice. If you think the Auralic sounded good....This is a whole new level, plus you get to play around with different DAC’s , what fun:-)

I agree with not too much resale value or updates. However as an auralic owner, they are extremely well built and sound awesome.  If you want to consider trading it for full resale value, try ps audio. I’ve heard good things about their dac and air lens streamer
