I have a pad/carpet over a Tongue and groove oak floor. I got pieces of granite from someone who had redone their kitchen. The things they sell to put under spikes, can grind into your wood floor, so I tried the granite. It worked okay. Then I tried GAIA One feet and they made huge difference when used on the granite. That was with KEF Reference 5 speakers. I have since moved on to some Sonus Farber Amati G5 speakers. I did the exact same setup and there is a difference, but nowhere the same. I’m guessing it has to do with the built of the speaker. The Amati’s are much better braced than the Ref 5’s. All the best. |
If nobody minds I’d like to, sort of, hijack this thread. What about spikes going into Black Diamond Racing discs on a wooden second floor? I have a 100+ pound integrated amp, a streamer and a turntable on a Quadraspire bamboo shelved rack. |
