Needs to be 75-80 db to hear all the details.
listening volume?
I am curious to know at what volume you listen to music. I use a free NIOSH app on phone and was listening to pop rock and jazz at 68-72dB(A). I enjoy most music at a bit higher level if I am really focusing on the music but then the TV downstairs would be cranked up. Background level is low 30s

what @hilde45 said but maybe slightly higher peaks and following the same guidance |
Often it depends on what I’m listening to: Diana Krall-like close miked acoustical sounds great in my room at 60-65db, and yes, at 70-75db that kind of sound can be a bit too much. Rock opera: Floyd DSOTM: 75db in my system, w/ 78-80db peaks satisfies. Classical: (rare-I’m still learning the ropes), ranges 70db to 85db peaks with my setup: 95db speakers with 350w mono tube amps. Lots of headroom to breath at very loud levels. |
