@elliottbnewcombjr Thanks for posting these instructions! I was able to post a pic on one of the threads. But I noticed something, the pic that I uploaded into the Virtual Systems, now also shows up when you go to view all the virtual systems. Seems like that might be an issue unless I did something wrong? I mean, nobody is probably going to want to see uploaded photos meant for a thread to show up in the virtual systems, right? Not sure, just thought I would mention that. Thnx |
All The image must be on the web. It doesn’t matter what method you use, where you put it. Sometimes a simple copy and paste works, however, it often does not work. Using the 6th icon, IMAGE, always works. When people say resize, it is the same as entering 600 in the width box, the site automatically resizes the image, and it retains the aspect ratio, so no need to enter a height. ///////////////////// When you upload an image to the web, it stays there at least for a while. Some sites, some pages, images get moved or deleted, in which case you won’t find it later. If you paste an image from a makers web site (a Rega TT), and they subsequently revise, update, move, delete a page or an image, the link to the image will not work, and the image in your post will no longer work, That is why I prefer to make a Virtual System here, I am suggesting the name ’my uploaded photos’, because the images will remain until I delete them. btw, there is a limit of 50 photos for any virtual system here, so you may need to delete some in the future in order to add some. When you delete from a Virtual System, then I suspect, all the prior inserts of those images in past posts will no longer work. ///////////////////////////// I joined DPReview.com in 2012. You can insert your images directly from your computer, much easier, and the images are stored on their server. All the photos I (or anyone) have posted there for 14 years are still there. Open up a thread I created in 2013, there they are. I often think, how big is their server farm? Use a Sony rx100m1,3,6, Sony RX1r, or Olympus Stylus 1? Both Sony’s and Olympus’s Menus are horrible, not to mention that Sony released the rx100m1 in 2012 with zero manual, nothing in the box, nothing online, great camera, they rushed it to market. I wrote a 14 page manual for the rx100m1, it helped a lot of people, until finally a few books by pros came out, and Sony finally put a manual online. I am one who will RTFM as you must know by now. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/threads/elliotts-info-consolidated-7-14-25.4810174/ |
