Is it my streamer or does Audirvana sounds better?

Dear members,

I really need some help here with my digital front end. I tried 3 different streamers in the past 2 years( Bluesound node icon, hifi rose and Eversolo T8) and everytime I keep going back to Audirvana via my MacBook. Why is that if everyone keep saying ditch your computer? I am only using my MacBook for streaming audio

only( not for personal use) connected to my Garlubidor divinity r2r dac. The rest of my system is McIntosh C2600 preamp and McIntosh Mc452 amp. No matter what I do Audirvana sounds better to my ears. Is it my rusty ears? Is it my streamers? Any comment and idea will be highly appreciated.

That’s great—look how much you saved. About $5,000? You could take a world vacation instead of agonizing over streamers.

I started a similar journey about a year and a half ago and finally settled on two streamers I like. The cost: $5,000 approx, not counting all the electricity burned during break-in and auditions.

Don’t get me wrong—my streamers still sound much better than my fanless MacBook running Foobar2000. But the streamer is the component I’ve spent the most time on. What really matters now is that we’re all happy and enjoying the music.

I did try Innuos pulse as well and it sounded better than Eversolo and Hifi Rose. Very close to Audirvana on a mac( again to my ears in my room) So many contradicting opinions 🤔. I read about a tube streamer that made me scratch my head ( tube in a stand alone streamer???) SW1X I may try it next couple months and hopefully it sounds good.

This is a great testimony of Audirvana. Streaming is very software dependent. Good hardware is wasted when loaded with bad software.

I used Audirvana during my foray into streaming about 15 years ago.

Enjoy your setup.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts regarding Audirvana

and my journey in finding best sounding source to my ears 🙏
