Should Room Acoustics be an Audiogon ‘topic’?

The available topics on Audiogon do not include Room Acoustics. This area is as important as any other, and has a far greater impact on what we hear than amps, preamps, and cables put together, IMO. Does anyone know how to lobby to include it? Do I need to start a petition? ; )

YES it matters to me. I thought about the super sweet spot. But as yet, condtions of the room come last.

There is a contemporary thread that asks folks how much money they have spent on cables (https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/how-much-have-you-spent-on-cables-throughout-the-years-i-m-shocked-whe?utm_campaign=website&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sendgrid).

Some are well into 5 figures. Just imagine how much better their rooms would sound if they had put as much of that money as their living space would allow into acoustics.

I admit it is much easier to hide a new cable...

As the post ahead of me stated,"Some are well into 5 figures. Just imagine how much better their rooms would sound if they had put as much of that money as their living space would allow into acoustics."

I’m still shocked that some Audiophiles still don’t get it !

Acoustics IS HALF the Game!!!

Many may not have a dedicated listening room so I understand what they can do acoustically is limited, but you have to try and do something. It’s been 0ver 30 years since I’ve been implementing acoustics in my soundroom environments and I can honestly say, there’s no point in listening to a system / room that isn’t using multiple forms of treatment. It appears many Audiophiles still need to learn a lot and understand how acoustics work and the incredible impact it has on your performance. I had a slogan, "Don’t expect more from your sound system than your room can deliver" !!!

I’ve been in magical sounding rooms that are so close to the real thing it could trick some very good ears. My room is no diferent and was a journey to get there.

Most Audiophiles struggle with equipemnt pruchases and are on a Merry Go Round of changing equipment due to not being satsfied with their "sound", start putting some emphasis on acoustics and that will change ! Life’s to short to remain only halfway there soncially....Gary dT

No. Audiogon prefers fake news like cables changing sound. Why would they dedicate something to the most important part of your entire audio experience like room acoustics.

You're assuming that spending money on audio cables and spending money on acoustic treatments are mutually exclusive. Odd.
