Sourcepoint 8 or Sourcepoint 10?

Hello All - I am going to have to replace my Apogee Stages at some point and I am considering the MoFi Sourcepoint Speakers - 8s or 10s.  I know that they are going to be very different than my current speakers but I want something that can be listened to more casually (not always in the sweet spot), and I like a warmer big sound.  My listening area is about 14 by 16 with 9ft ceilings and the back of the listening area opens to the dining room area that is another 14 x 16.  I can place the speakers up to 3 ft out from the wall.  I also like listening to music in the late evening at lower levels.  In addition, I have a Rythmik subwoofer that can stay and could add a second if needed to calm room misbehavior.  Asking for thoughts or experience with these speakers.

BTW - My digital chain runs through a Denafrips Venus II 12th and my Analog is an older Linn Sondek LP12 with Ittok LV !! (Black) Arm and  Ortofon MC X40 into a Linn Linto phono stage.

@maam522a - though the front bears some similarity to the SourcePoints, considering that these new ones are massive speakers weighing in around 160 pounds each with beautiful woodwork, I don't know the price, but I'd guess they are out of the range of most people and intended for an audience closer to those who would buy TAD. These aren't SourcePoint 12's. I hope I'm wrong and they are below $20K/pair.

First and foremost: I have not left MoFi and they have not let me go. I am an employee of MoFi,
just as I have been an employee of all the other companies I have worked for. I have never been
a contract worker or "hired gun". I commit fully to the companies I work for. I will continue to
bring out new products for Mofi in the near future, and I love my working relationship with
them and the people I work with.

If you end up buying the 8's, after you've had a chance to get them tweaked to your room, it would  be great if you could report back on your experience with them.

The floorstanders have the correct cabinet volume and crossover for an optimal concentric driver design. They also occupy the same footprint as the stand mounts on stands.

The standmounts are a compromise and don't really save any space when you have them on stands (same footprint as the floorstander).

Get the Mofi 888 floorstander

or the V10 master edition and you will hit a TAD level of sound on a working man's budget.

@snapsc

I did buy the 8s.  After listening to the Stages for they past several years, I am quite anxious about how different a box speaker will sound, much less a dual concentric box.  The stages are quite special in the same band as the 8s considering the low end roll-off.

I will post a review once I get them dialed in and have a bit of time to acclimate.

+1 Mofi 10

I’m much more a fan of full range + sub to add additional bass depth and additional lower bass to midrange support vs a shorter range + sub to fill in missing bass. The latter seems like a budget fix and harder to get right.
