Do you listen intently?

How much of your time do you spend really concentrating on the music playing.  And how much time do you listen casually while doing other things?

@signaforce I join you with a lot of my listening done while sports are on the TV.  Paying most of my attention to the music and watching the games superficially.  Other times I sit in the listening position with eyes closed and just absorbed.  Never use the main system for casual/background listening.

How good can your system be if you have to bear down and concentrate when listening?  Are you just listening to music or are you multi-tasking is how I would ask the question.

I have always been an intent listener unless I am working. Little or no talking. No reading. Just listening. IMO Vinyl makes you listen moreso than digital. If nothing else you'll have to flip the album. Not trying to put down digital. It gets a fair share of time.  I sit in a chair which, though comfortable, makes me sit up straight. I must admit that there are just some songs that I have to sing along with because they are so meaningful to me. Before I retired, I listened to music while working unless I was working in my office. I cant sit at a desk and listen to music and get any work done. I am a drummer and I most always find myself tapping along with the music. So I don't try to listen while working at a desk

98% just listening to the music.  TV off, phone in my pocket, lights dim. Probably eyes closed too. I like to let the music flow and drift me away along with it. Mostly jazz and classical. The extra 2% is responding to text messages from my wife one floor up. 🤦‍♂️🙄
