SHUNYATA RESEARCH VRS CARDAS AUDIO VRS SYNERGISTIC RESEARCH

This discussion IS NOT A REQUEST for an opinion related to ANY cable in my system. I am not looking for cable recommendations, or equipment recommendations.

I am looking for comments associated with your listening experiences using the three cables. I have been using Shunyata Research cables for years. I am considering a new loom, and again, I DO NOT WANT RECOMMENDATIONS I WANT TO HEAR YOUR OPIONS OF THESE CABLES IN YOUR STSTEM.

hey it’s great if you own the following; Eggleston Works Andra III se, McIntosh MC601 monos, McIntosh C2600 pre, McIntosh DS200 digital streaming DAC, Panasonic Blue Ray DP-UB9000.

i have been using Shunyata ZiTron series (Snakes), starting with Cobra,Python, & Anaconda.

What was or is your thoughts, and experiences with Synergetic Research and Cardas Audio and if you own any of my equipment and Shunyatas tell me about that.
I want to know YOUR experience with these cables, please list system components also

I appreciate you all thanks

My experience with your selections are limited to SR fuses and a USB cable based on suggestions here on AG. The fuses were a waste of money and the USB cable sounded no different than the $5 USB cable that came with my DAC, so it went back (fuses were not returnable). For digital I went with DH Labs Ethernet and USB which I thought sounded better and were very reasonably priced, and from what I can tell is a very well respected Company.

I am sure you don't want to hear (read) this so here is your chance to bail:)

There are few cable companies that spew marketing BS as much as (as well as?) SR. There is no such thing as quantum tunneling in metallurgy. In their digital section they brag about 99.9999% pure silver but in the specs they only list 99.999%. An innocent typo? Maybe. But when words like "Tesla Coil", "Quantum Tunneling Ground Lifters" etc. are thrown around you need to get "5 Nines" vs. "6 Nines" correct.

There are plenty of cable companies that make excellent products at fair prices, with those that are direct to consumer generally representing the best value for money ratio (usually double in terms of cost of manufacturing vs. MSRP), that do not make up doo doo to sell their goods.

My system is listed in detail in my virtual system (current pics coming soon as I just changed out speakers and rearranged the room).

@fastfreight I expect the Shunyatas sound good in the OP's system because he has a full MacDaddy setup.

I had Andra III 's for over 15 years and they cannot hold a candle to ATC. Power handling on the ATCs is superb , easily handles 1000w, whereas I wouldn't push the Eggs beyond 300w.

There's a good  YT video on the Andra's by GR Research.

The first thing I’ll say is in 2019 I upgrade drivers, internal wiring, and crossovers to Egglestone newest at that time, and painted the cabinets in Bentley  Black Matelic.

they sound far better than early Andra III an leaps above IIs

as for SR, not my cup of tea at all, a friend told me exactly the same thing that steakster said about SR

me I have used Shunyata for quite sometime now and I did notice recently they seam a little bright in the high end, started wondering if it was the ATC CD player I had caused it, I just sold it and yes sir it was the ATC CD player. I never liked it!
I am leaning towards Cardas at moment. Thinking buy a few or of used and see what they do.
Any other suggestions?

@fastfreight I haven’t tried any PCs from Shunyata but my impressions of the Alpha v2 xlr mirror yours, very detailed but a bit thin, bright and analytical sounding. I was hoping the new X cables would have a fuller sound.

@vx700

My Eureka moments in this hobby have been as follows

Dragon HC power cables

Zayin Stargate MK II SFP switch

ATC SCM 100 Passive Speakers

I have used Rick Schultz magnetic cables for 15 years and currently use his new Apparition range. They are quite similar to Valhalla IIs which I also highly recommend .

YMMV Happy listening.
