Accuphase DC-1000 Processor/DAC

After a recent thread on streamers I decided to look into DACs, particularly the Accuphase DC-1000.  Currently own an Accuphase DC-37 Processor/DAC . My Innuos Pulsar feeds the DC-37  via Innuos Phoenix USB out. The DC-37 feeds my Accuphase C2300 preamplifier via XLR.  Seeing that streaming is my only source for music,  I'm considering upgrading my DAC to the Accuphase DC-1000 and I'm wondering if this is an actual and noteworthy upgrade.

At that price I would consider other DAC's from manufacturers who specialize in DAC's. I’ve never heard an Accuphase DAC so I cannot claim any knowledge there.  But from my experience with manufacturers (MAC, SimMoon in my case) that make everything, the DACs can be out preformed by companies who specialize in that. For this money you are into the top tier DAC’s and there is a lot to choose from. Unless you of course want to keep everything Accuphase then stay the course. I’ve yet to see an Accuphase DAC in the top listings of DAC’s.

@fire_water I see we are both Accuphase owners. I recently ordered a DP-770 SACD player which has a very similar DAC as the 1000; I will let you know how it goes. This will be my first Accuphase digital component. Accuphase has an excellent pedigree of digital design experience and products over its 50+year history. I have no doubt their SACD machines and DACs will standup to current state of the art digital components from many other manufacturers. Differences are expected, of course; some like Pinot Noir from Sonoma, others from Oregon, cabs from Napa vs Bordeaux region varietals. And these pairings can all be massaged with various cables and accoutrements. Cheers!

@audiopacer hey congratulations. Accuphase is an incredible company.  I'm very happy with my A48-S, C2300 and DC-37 but wow the P7500, A80, those A300 monoblocks, C3900 - what am I missing? Absolute hifi bliss! Please tell me how your DP770 turns out, it definitely won't disappoint!
