If I guessed part of your system you will want to avoid hot recordings and focus on ones that are tonally deep and warm... with music that is very... up tempo (?). I'm thinking swing might be really compelling for you.

I ve ordered thus far the Soundtrack from Inside Llewelyn Davis and also the wonderful world of quality pressings

Most Classical albums, especially the Romantic period.

@hilde45 Steely Dan Two Against Nature is excellent. Scott Hull won a Grammy as a recording engineer for that album. Music and lyrics top notch. So is Everything Must Go. Love that album. Was listening to both on vinyl last night (Analog Productions 45rpm). Great stuff.

I'd also recommend "The Bitchin Bajas". I've discovered them recently and really like all of what I'm hearing. And your description of the music you're interested in is very much like mine.
