TP-LINK and battery for streaming wifi

Just an observation. Many of you know I was chasing the digital dragon for a few months and I'm pretty happy with where I am now for the $$$ invested. Eversolo DMP A-6 with upgraded LPS, Supra Excalibur USB and Merason DAC1 Mk2. I have a TP-LINK and a portable Archer battery power supply for it. On a whim yesterday I tried inserting a 12 inch CAT8 cable from the TP-LINK to the Eversolo because Ive never been sure if my Eversolo was connecting to the TP-LINK or to my Main Router which is in the same room and very powerful. Plugged in the Ethernet cable to listen for an audible difference and whoa!!! Started going through reference tracks. Noticeably blacker background and even more detail. More textures and warmth. Maybe my Eversolo was not connecting to my TP link all along? I am not tech savvy so I have no idea how to check. But the ethernet connection is a clear winner here. Big improvement and NO cost!! Ymmv.

You shouldn't use Wi-Fi if you can hard wire ethernet. You have a Gigabit Lan input on your Eversolo which is far superior to Wi-Fi. Do you have Gigabit internet?

Cat-8 solid core cables I've found to be the best. I use Ampcom, not expensive and better than boutique cables. I also use their SFP connectors.

The Eversolo A10 has a SFP port, note not SFP+.

There's a huge thread on this or similar on What's Best Forum. Check it out.

@maprik if I remember correctly I did suggest wiring your streamer in your other thread where you were asking wifi or wired…but I could be wrong.

In any case…good deal!

Typical for a result that improves streaming performance…going thru reference tracks…2 days later damn my vinyl setup still rules lol
