I don't plan to run the sub with my speakers for music. My speakers are true full range.
A vented subwoofer will still help you feel the music better in the low frequency. Most full range speakers don't have long-throw woofers because they have to be fast to reproduce higher frequencies with shorter wavelengths. Sealed subs are the flavor of the week but they're a better match for speakers that need help in higher frequencies where speed is more relevant. If you have full range, vented subs complement it better.
