JBL XPL200A The Unicorn speaker?

I found a pair of JBL XPL200A which I immediately snatched up! Anyone that had the pleasure of listening to the XPL200 would agree they are worth the $ to repair. The woofers needed re-foaming which was a given considering the vintage. One of the tweeters (046-Ti1) needs a new diaphrgm, unfortunately JBL stopped producing them but offer the newer version (046-Ti1S) which is supposed to sound identical. However, the replacement diaphragm is 10db lower. We swapped the new diaphragm on the working tweeter and it played 10db lower also. The XPL200 is 6ohm but I haven't seen a 6 ohm diaphragm. Does anyone know a direct replacement or have experience replacing Ti speakers? TIA!

Much appreciated but unfortunately my tweeter seems to be of the older version(?) even though it's a 200A. After fitting the 1S diaphragm, the sound was ~10db lower. Not sure if it's due to the impedance. Also, the 1S looks very different than mine. The part number I'm after is D8R046TI. Apparently it's 4ohm, which may explain the lower volume output.

Hmm, the JBL part number for a 4ohm diaphragm would be D4R046ti. What you have specified is for an 8-ohm diaphragm. Was the 1S diaphragm you installed a genuine JBL part? In a sealed JBL box?

It’s 8 Ohms D=diaphragm, 8R=resistance and O46TI is the driver.

It was not a genuine JBL diaphragm. Oddly I'm unable to locate any diaphragm that fits the 046-Ti1 regardless of resistance. JBL states the Ti1S version replaces the original one.
