Advice on speaker cables.

Hello. First time post here and I understand there’s no definitive answer, just looking for advice. I have a midrange system to me anyway and most of it was purchased new recently after giving up on repair of vintage gear. I’ve been using the same 12 gauge Apature copper speaker wire since 1982 and figured I would upgrade. I didn’t realize the hole I was going down. I’ve tried Blue Jean 10 white sounded dull, as well as WBC 7 gauge which I somewhat liked except bass seemed boomy at the expense of treble and midrange. Cables I’ve been advised to try are Kimber 4pr or 8pr as well as Audio Analysis oval 12. I’ve only used bare wire in the past not sure if that matters. My system is Yamaha as1200, Cxn100 streamer, Rotel 1572 mkii cd, Nakamichi oms1a cd. Speakers are Polk monitor 10a I bought new in 1982 with recently upgraded clarity cap crossovers. All interconnects are WBC. Appreciate any advice on speaker cables. Thank you.

I finally found a copy of the video that was created showing me demonstrating damping factor with speaker cables.  Take a look, and then still try to believe that good cables don't matter, I dare ya :) Also this same problem exists with any cable driving a transducer, whether it be a speaker or a headphone driver, or ?

My solution a month ago for speaker wire and interconnects was to upgrade to active speakers. XLR from DAC to speakers, no analog crossover, each driver has dedicated amp, DSP options for the room.

Not everyone's preference but the change in audio for me was an eye opener. I don't see myself ever going back to separate components, wiring. Added bonus is no more clutter.

Try https://audiosensibility.com/. I have good experience with this cables. My system Monitor Audio PL300, Cary Audio SA200.2 ES power amp, Parasound JC2 BP preamp, Parasound JC3+ phono stage, Technics SL1210G turntable, and Marantz SA10 S1 SACD player. All cables are purchased from Audiosensibility and they perform amazingly well against Clarus aqua speaker cables, and  Wireworld silver eclipse cables. The beaty of dealing with Stephen is that you can try his cables and to return them if you are not happy.

I don't see anyone mentioning KnuKoncepts Krux cable here.  I tried some a long while back before you coud get it already terminated.  I thought it was decent for the price, but I don't have any high priced cables to compare it with.  It has the double helix contruction like the Kimber cable, but isn't quite as pretty.

Now I see you can get it terminated in a few different lengths.  I'm not affliated with them, don't know much about them, or what if any return policy they have.  I just bought some wire from them in the past and was satisfied with the process.

Thought I'd just suggest another option.

I have good quality Transparent speaker wires from my local seller of audio equipment that are 25 feet long (needed for my setup). They made them from scratch in their shop when I bought my amp and turntable from them, but available online for about the ame cost ($250+ for 25 foot pair).

I then got far cheaper wires, after hearing about them online, through Amazon and they are almost as good (my wife cannot hear a difference and I am probably engaging in biased listening).

Both are clearly better than my previous wires, but I have resisted going as far down this rabbit hole as one can (I would love to try out some Nordost Valhalla 2 wires - for free).
