I love my JBL 4311s. The most detailed and transparent speakers ever made. Not my choice for modern recordings, but for 60s and 70s music, they still sound amazing.

The studio 2 speakers are great speakers. Very well made,

why are the jbl 4311 speakers not your choice for modern music?

The f208s have a wide sound stage

They're designed using waveguides that narrows the soundstage to improve focus. Just to set your expectations, but that's how generally horns and waveguides work.

I briefly had the JBL Sovereigns S7R (I think).   The ones with the JBL 375 compression horns and 075 bullet tweeters.  They were the only speakers I’ve owned that seemed to sound good with most any electronics.

I also briefly had the Metregon stereo speaker but didn’t care for it.  After I sold it I was told that you had to raise the front of the speaker (in relation to the rear feet) to get the best sound.
