@audphile1 I understand completely. I have no plans to sell my analog set up! But, at the same time, I'm not sure I'll add thousands of albums to my collection at this point in my life. If friends tell me that I really should have a certain album on vinyl, I'll get it for sure. But, in the near term, I'll probably do most of my upgrading on the digital side. That being said, there are turntables that turn my head!

This is a good thread @vermontstephen thank you for starting it. |
@audphile1 That is a pretty amazing coincidence. I just pulled out my Teac reel to reel. It used to be fully functional, but I haven’t used it in 30 years. I was wondering if I could get away with replacing the tape heads and getting a tape head pre-amp. (I’m not willing to spring for a Doshi, though I’m sure they are fantastic). Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I’m sure I’ll end up with one of the A to D converters. But I’ll continue to listen to vinyl, too. |
@vermontstephen Ha that’s funny! Mine is an A3340S. Works fine for the most part for playback, no bueno on the recording section. |
RME ADI-2 Pro AD-DAC. Records up to 32 bit 384kHz. If recording vinyl, 32 bit makes the upper treble sound cleaner & better defined. 384kHz sampling rate allows voices to sound richer & more human. USB cables are Audience Front Row. The AD section is superb, while the DA is just OK. For DA, I use a Holo May KTE. WOW! I tried Lynx Hilo (24/192 max version), and a couple of Prism models. |
