"You spent how much on that cartridge?"

I’ve had carts worth twice my table cost.

Currently have a Soundsmith cart worth about 1/3 of my VPI table cost.

Both work well.

A recent thread implied that you should not have a nice rig unless you own a lot of albums. Almost like one does not qualify

Why would anyone ruin a lot of albums with a poor rig, before upgrading the rig?

Should we start counting the number of socks to match some number of shoes? 👞 🧦 

I agree with @lewm as I do on most topics. But I will say, the less albums you own (or have owned) the less you really know what albums sound like on your system and therefore might be a bit harder to find a cartridge that fits your system and taste.

As long as report back here and honestly report your cartridge findings here in the forum,  go ahead and mortgage that house !
