Weiss DAC 501 Mark 1 Ethernet Verizon issue

Anyone out there have the Weiss DAC 501 Mk 1? I’m having trouble getting Quobuz or JPLAY to Recognize the Weiss DAC. Anyone out there have the same issues? I think it may be a Verizon issue as I have my Ethernet cable coming out of a Verizon extender into the Weiss DAC….

I have a Weiss DAC501-MK2. I use it exclusively as a Roon endpoint with Qobuz. I have also tried Audirvana with Qobuz via the UPnP endpoint on the Weiss DAC. It has all worked flawlessly, although I gave up on Audirvana for the really poor user interface/experience vs. what I get with Roon.

In any case, I have no ethernet connectivity issues. I use AT&T gigabit fiber service.

JJ thanks again. Daniel Weiss recommended JPlay as a Roon alternative using UPnP. I thought it sounded a little more transparent and spatial than Roon and, I got to eliminate the server box. Roon is also pretty great.

Guys I was able to get the Weiss 501 DAC connected into my network but can’t get JPLAY to connect to the DAC. If I wanted to switch to Roon what are the mechanisms to do that? I can’t just D/L Roon to my IPad and use it thru that like my Quobuz app right? Daniel Weiss said he’s working on a way to connect the DAC to Quobuz directly but that’s not ready yet. if I have BluOS Node 2 I streamer can I use that in conjunction with Roon? Why is this so friggin hard?

You need to install Roon on a regular computer (macOS or Windows). Once you have it running there, you can install Roon Remote on your iPad and control it from there. After you enable the DAC501 as a Roon endpoint and connect uour Qobuz account in Roon settings, it’s easy to stream Qobuz using the Roon Remote iPad app.

Since I already paid for a JPlay trial period can I do the same with JPlay instead of Roon?

thanks!
