New Audiophile?

Last night, my 15 year-old daughter was "surprised" to discover that Tate Mcrae sounds better on my stereo than her iPhone.

We'll see what becomes of this.

This is definitely a fun thread. For Xmas I replaced my grown daughters all in one broken Wi-Fi turntable with odds and ends around my house. I gave her Opera Consonance Cyber 100 Signature tube integrated, upgraded U-Turn Audio turntable and vintage late 1970 Polk speakers. Now my 4 year old grandson and 6 month old granddaughter sit still on the couch and listen to albums as if it was a TV program. Most evenings before night time the 4 year old grandson dances to 2-3 songs joined by the entire household. I am thrilled.

My 35 year old  son's wife bought him an all n one record player on sale about $200. They collect a couple dozen rare lps from 90's bands. He was kinda proud of it saying "sounds pretty good, huh"? Through my teeth I said yeah, not bad.

He brought over a new lndie lp he just got. Put it on my revealing mid fi system. He said wow, I never heard that violin or those backing vocals before. I felt pretty good.

I know he ll never put the $$$ into a system like mine, but he respects my hobby.

I jump started my son on his 16th Birthday.

Dennis Murphy modded Pioneer monitors.

Schiit DAC

Parts Express 10 in sealed sub.

We made a high pass filter with a couple of caps in the cables.

He borrowed an original NAD 3020 from the storage rack in the basement. ( noisy controls)

He got a Sony 2 channel integrated with BT a year later.

He is 28 now and still likes to lay by the sub while cranking tunes.
