What to do with very low offer on an item for sale

Your best bet is to ignore low ball offers. There are plenty of people who keep trying it so it must work some time, but it's kind of insulting.

If it’s a ridiculous offer, counter with an offer 10% higher than what you are asking.

I’ve told people I’ll donate the item before selling it anywhere near their price or just tell them I’m in no hurry in selling it. You would be surprised how many times they came back with a more reasonable offer after this.

BTW: PayPal friends and family is not as secure as you think it is. There are so many things to watch out for, you could write a small book on protecting yourself. Things drastically change when you sell overseas too. Watch out!

I've said this before, but unlike eBay or Craigslist, Agon is supposed to be a gentleman's/gentlewoman's site whose unspoken rules include not making silly offers. Those strokes that defy said rules don't warrant a response.
