recommends for interconnects?

Looking to replace old (and tired) MIT shotgun XLR interconnects between Mac 402 amp and Levinson pre and CD player.

there are so many cables and reviews and opinions out there. Looking for similar or slight improvement in sound, but under a few hundred dollars. Is that even possible?   1 meter with XLR terminating both ends.....

Ideas and thoughts much appreciated.

@goofyfoot "...I purchased some Cullen Crossover interconnects to compare with Audioquest Colorado RCA’s. I wanted to determine whether I liked silver or copper from the tape outs on my power amp to the inputs on my headphone amp. "

I would say this experiment is to see if you like Cullen Crossovers versus Audioquest Colorado interconnects for... as opposed to copper vs silver. Way too many variables between these interconnects to be just comparing the metal used in them. There are the dielectrics, geometries and terminations. Good comparison... but mostly just between two different interconnects which may or may not reflect the metal use.

"Retail is around 1500 but if you look around rarely you can find a pair in the $800-$900 range on the used market."

When the OP specifically states that he is looking for XLR cable recommendations "under a few hundred dollars", how is this useful information?
