recommends for interconnects?

Looking to replace old (and tired) MIT shotgun XLR interconnects between Mac 402 amp and Levinson pre and CD player.

there are so many cables and reviews and opinions out there. Looking for similar or slight improvement in sound, but under a few hundred dollars. Is that even possible?   1 meter with XLR terminating both ends.....

Ideas and thoughts much appreciated.

A few years ago, I was where you are (with regard to interconnects). Trying to extract an infinitesimal improvement to resolve an imperceptible (to the ear) anomaly. A sound tech friend recommended a book to help with understanding the concern I was describing to him... "The Audio Expert" by Ethan Winer (available on Amazon). I highly recommend it to anyone that has become "obsessed" with audio, before spending another dime on audio components.

Take a look at the Morrow MA7 line.  They are typically available at a steep discount off of "MSRP" and are good quality cables for the money.  I replaced my MIT Shotgun speaker cables with them and liked the improvement.  I moved on to much more expensive (Shunyata) cables, but at your price range, Morrow provides a good price/performance ratio

@goofyfoot "...I purchased some Cullen Crossover interconnects to compare with Audioquest Colorado RCA’s. I wanted to determine whether I liked silver or copper from the tape outs on my power amp to the inputs on my headphone amp. "

I would say this experiment is to see if you like Cullen Crossovers versus Audioquest Colorado interconnects for... as opposed to copper vs silver. Way too many variables between these interconnects to be just comparing the metal used in them. There are the dielectrics, geometries and terminations. Good comparison... but mostly just between two different interconnects which may or may not reflect the metal use.
