Vermont?

I am on the New Hampshire side of the Connecticut River looking across the valley at Vermont's Mt. Monadnock as I key this note.  We call this the North Country and it includes Quebec too, and we're not far from Maine either.  Audiophiles, along with everything else are few and far between.  It is paradise on earth as far as I am concerned.  Friends who just don't get it ask us why we are here now instead of at our house in South Florida.

@billstevenson i don’t think I’m that far away from you as I too am on the New Hampshire side about 4 or 5 miles away from the Connecticut River in Spofford.

Our property is actually right on the river, but we're in Colebrook, about 145 miles north of Spofford.

Western New Hampshire is practically Vermont. There are more Subarus in Bath with Vt plates than local pickup trucks.

On a serious note, I think a lot of people in Academia are audiophiles, as I learned on a facebook group. So University towns may be your best bet. At least 4 of you will be in Burlington and the rest in Middlebury.
