Replacing Roon - What Should I get?

I'm tired of Roon having brain farts.  I have an original Roon Nucleus and have updated and augmented the Memory.  This helped for a bit.  But now, I keep having to reboot the darn thing.

It's not my network.  I have checked it out and everything in the house works fine.

Here is the setup.  A direct fiber optic link goes to the Router.  Then ethernet to Roon from the Router.  This way I get Roon to talk with the setup upstairs.  I have an 35 foot ethernet cable that runs through the walls directly from the router into my dCS Lina.

I want to replace the Roon.  I am thinking about an Innuos Stream.  Just need a streamer that can hold Roon/Tidal.  Don't need a DAC as the dCS does that quite well.  I have a SSD in the Nucleus that holds a ton of my music that I want to move over.

Thoughts on what to replace the Roon with?  Innuos (Stream) always get bandied about.  I hear about Arender as well. I don't want to get an updated Roon.

I also wonder about deleting and reinstalling the Roon App on my iPads.

Thanks in Advance

@speedthrills I feel your pain.  @audphile1  Ditto. I think the endless and continuous updates must be the problem.  Some work, other cause headaches.  I am not interested in updating to a more Contemporary Roon Core given my experience with them.

I really haven’t had any luck with the Roon User Forum, and yes, I have tried for multiple topics.

@passthedutchie Thank you.  As with other posts/comments, it is comforting to know that I am not alone in this issue.  I really think it is issues with Roon’s updates and operating system.  I know my Nucleus is old, but it should still work as intended. At least that is my belief.

@dsnyder0cnn Yes, Thank You, I would love to chat with you.  How do I get ahold of you.  I will be at Axpona in April, But only Friday, and maybe a couple of hours on Saturday.  Talking instead of typing would be very beneficial. Thanks again.

@audphile1, I agree about JPLAY sounding great but the dealbreaker for me is that there are no sort options for Qobuz playlists within the JPLAY app.

I find myself gravitating away from Roon for listening sessions using Qobuz connect instead and only using Roon for discovery and even that isn’t as shiny as it once was.

+1 @woots .  I have run Roon for 10 years, had issues with a Nucleus.  Got a Grimm MU1 and it sounds better and is rock solid.  I've tried other software and Roon is the best for me.  Optimized it sounds great.
