Parasound A21+ vs Adcom GFA-585se

It's pretty apparant that most of the comments are from people that have never heard the 585se or know much about the circuitry, who designed it, and the actual build quality and components. I've owned both. Both are great performing amps, and I currently own the 585se. It's literally your preferance. The 585se was designed by a legend regardless of the history of how ADCOM came about or where it's made now.

Let me just say Something about ADCOM vs Parasound. First the ADCOM will be far more reliable, these early GFA 555 or GFA 555ll amps were designed by Nelson Pass! Also, find a used pair and go mono blocks or even if you give one of these amps a great pre amp (not one of theres) like a Modwright, or Prima Luna, Manley labs, Dehavilland Ultraverve,  you will find these amps have incredible detail and upper end extension, excellent low end control and a beautiful warm mid range. These amps are Super rugged and were used in all the Sound Warehouse stores back in the day ,they were left on 24-7 they worked Always! Year after year after year.

@shtinkydog There’s a few great YT videos and interviews about the history of ADCOM. Although there is very little media or information on the 585se, it has very similar circuits as the earlier designed amps. A can’t 100% attest to the components still being readily available, but the amps are easy to troubleshoot and repair. As my preference between the two of these amps I will say that the 585se has a brighter upper mid and more detail in the lower mids. I currently power ML ESL speakers. Another thing that is notable is that when there’s silence in the source sound the 585 is dead silent. The major drawback is finding either of these amps and both are power hungry.
