Speakers for room size that provide greater detail.

I’m looking at replacing my Wharfedale Super Lintons. The room size is 24’ length, and 14’ wide. Ceilings are 12’. My current listening distance is 15’ from my speakers. I have 2 Rel Classic 99 subs, running through a Rotel RA1592. Used for only playing music.
Want a speaker that is resolving at lower and loud volumes. Speakers that are more resolving than the Super Lintons at louder the volumes specifically. I am currently looking at the Kef R11 Meta, Kef Reference 1 Meta and Wharfedale Elysian 2. I would prefer a stand mount speaker. But open to a floor standing. Besides the speakers I’ve mentioned looking for other recommendations that I can read up on and demo in person. Thanks in advance.

I think the Kef ref 1 Meta is head and shoulders better than the R11 and Wharfedales in general.  I have a room with similar dimensions and used to have very large Revel Salon 2 floor standers.  Thought I needed a speaker that large for the room.  I replaced them with Dynaudio Contour 20i's and was so blown away I quickly upgraded to Dynaudio Confidence 20 stand mounts.  They love ample power and current, but resolve loud or quiet, and scale to fill the large room.  I have similar subs.  Used for under 7k.

Erik…Open to most brands. Realizing i’ll get more for my money buying used if I’m patient.

Given what you have said so far, I would say Dynaudio. They are detailed but musical. 

However, some thoughts. If you want high end audio sound... realistic soundstage, with instruments set in them like they would be in real life then typically your speakers will be in a triangle with your listening position. So, you should consider that. My system is for instance in a 8’ triangle this is very typical... 7’ - 9’. You might do some experimenting with your current system. Get it in this configuration and do some experimenting, you may find you can get lots more out of your current system and learn lots before buying new speakers. Small changes in toe-in can completely change the sound stage. 

 

Also, I would be a bit careful of not getting too much of what you ask for with your current receiver. Its sound is a bit forward and pretty dry. Moving up with much better speakers as you plan to (which is good)... you might get more than you are bargaining for.  You might consider a more musical speakers like Sonus Faber. 

If one is going to do a major upgrade of a system, speakers are a place to start. Get the very best speakers you can that appeal to your ear. Then upgrade the other components to support the speakers and achieve the kind of sound you want... the electronics are a big factor in how dry, or musical, or analytical or dynamic you system sound. So, if this is your plan... speakers are the best place to start.
