What punches much higher than it's price point?

Just bought a Townshend Audio reference preamp in part, because an owner posted how it performed better than preamps he owned that were more than twice the price !  I concur wholeheartedly.  This makes me wonder what other audio diamonds are hiding out there ?  What component have you purchased new that so impressed you at its price point ?

@tomcarr My son has a pair of those Pioneers with a Dennis Murphy modded xover. Paid $150 for the pair brand new and modded. Pairs with a Parts Express 10 in sealed sub for $80 and a few caps to high pass the Pioneers. Crazy good.

 

i still have the container from my $13 Grado cartridge.

Anthony Gallo Reference 3.5 Loudspeaker System:  Cylindrical diaphragm transducer tweeter,  Carbon fiber midranges (2),  Aluminum magnesium coated woofers,  No crossover,  No enclosure, No wood.  Cast aluminum support stalk.  No longer manufactured unfortunately.
