Which Record makes your system shine?

Hey All,

Been a while since I posted anything and I hope I am posting in the correct category.

So, just curious, which Vinyl Record, do you feel makes your system shine and display it's full potential?

OR, put another way, which record or records would you put on if you wanted to show off your system to someone who has not heard or seen it before?

Of course we know, not all records sound the same but for me I feel (at least on my system), it's the record: "Temptation" by Chantal Chamberland - Evosound Records

Carpenters: The Singles (forgot to check the record label).

On the other hand, I have James Taylor Greatest Hits on Vinyl and that record just sounds a bit veiled to me.

It's funny how one record can sound great and another, not that it sounds bad but just doesn't seem to have that crispness or openness to it.

System at the moment if you're wondering:

- Vincent SV-500
- Mofi Studio Desk w/Hana SL MC
- Martin Logan Motion 40 Speakers
- Sim Audio Moon 110lp V2 Phono
- Cardas Cabling

@parkergetdean ,

Sting and the Police believe in them.

They had one in their Machine.

Wonder how much it weighed..🤔

I usually just slip into a pair of crushed velvet lowrider bell's and put something like this on.

Lot's of good albums on this list.  I have found for me that it is really about the quality of the pressing and the folks cutting the masters.  I have listened to various pressings of Aja for instance.  An original first pressing in good shape, mastered by Grundman, is fabulous.  some of the later pressings not so much.  I sitll like the music, but the system doesn't sing as well. But then there is the UHQR stuff that is slso brilliant.  And even if it is a first press Grundman, but hasn't been well cared for, then it also isn't that impressive.  But good pressings of many of the titles highlighted on this thread do indeed make my system shine!

It's not a record; it's the Eagles @ Melbourne Blu-ray video concert at concert levels. Better than being there. The separations, the dynamics, the impact, the harmony's, the guitars, the horns...just the over mix of the recording is the best.

@dekay ,

You wear clogs with those?
