What happened to Rotel?

I feel Rotel's product quality has significantly gone down hill along with their service. I would never purchase a Rotel product ever again. I purchased a Rotel RSP-1576 only four years ago and now the volume occasionally VERY low, barely audible even turning the volume to near max. Completely unplug it would resolve the issue and make the volume return to normal. I tried to obtain warranty services through Rotel but was told I need a physical receipt despite I submitted it upon product registration. Their service is absolutely horrible and would try to deny your warranty claim for any little reason they can find. Worst of all, they don't have an actual office here but only a distributor, so their actual manufacturing entity isn't bound by US Consumer laws and there's no way to file a lawsuit against them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND

Interesting Rega will honor it's warrantee, no matter where or when it was purchased or who is in possession of it. Abuse or modifications excepted.

As far as I know, Rega warranty can only be honored in the country of purchase..I bought several Rega products in Europe and I was told the warranty would be void as soon as I’d take it to another country. Also, the warranty was non-transferrable.

Rega offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for all its products, ensuring long-term support as long as parts remain available. However, there is a three-year limited warranty for most products, with the exception of laser mechanisms and phono cartridges, which are covered for one year. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to products sold in the U.S.

I understand that's the way most work, but what's the point of product registration if they can't trace the product back to the original purchaser?

Ridiculous that Rotel would not honor the warranty if you registered the product.
