Connecting an iPad to a USB DAC

Yes, I used an Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to connect to my preamp's USB DAC.

For SiriusXM, I connect an iPad's Lightning jack to my DAC using the Apple adapter and HDMI. Its sound is lossy and compressed, but it's much better quality than from the satellites - perfectly fine for casual listening. I've tried listening to YouTube through the iPad and it sounds better than through Roku, but it's still marginal.

Many thanks for the confirmation this will work.  I am not expecting wonderful SQ but it will be as good as it can be.
