Subwoofer settings when integrating HT into a 2CH setup

Just finished a home remodel, my new listening room is now 16 by 13 feet. I have the 2CH setup pretty much dialed in, the problem is the HT subwoofer setting. My system consists of:

Rogue RP-1 preamp

Schiit Audio Aegir power amp

Rega RP-1 TT w/ Rega Ania Cartridge

Rega MCFono phono amp (playing with a Parks Audio Waxwing DSP phono amp)

Topping D90SE DAC

Bluesound Vault 2i music server

Emotiva XMC-1 AV processor

Emotiva UPA-700 center and surround ch. amp

Zu Audio DW6 Superfly edition speakers

SVS SB3000 sub

At the moment I have the 1st RP-1 output going to the Schiit Aegir and the 2nd RP-1 output going the R/L input of my SVS sub. The crossover on the music setting of the sub is 50hz with a 24dB slope.

The movie mode on the sub the LPF is LFE mode active which I’m assuming means the XMC-1 is controlling the bass management.

The XMC-1 settings right now are speakers set to small crossover set to 50hz slope set to 12dB

Dual sub enhanced bass turned off.

I thought about sending the output from the Rouge to the sub and then the sub out the the Schiit, but not sure if I want to put the sub between the preamp and power amp or if that is energy an issue

Rogue does NOT recommend using a Y or trying to sum two different output signals in any way

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

If your sub accepts dual inputs, and your preamp can do HT bypass mode, your best option to leave what you have untouched is to tell your HT processor your L and R are full range, and tun a separate line from your HT processor’s sub out put to your sub directly.

You _can_ experiment with setting the L and R to small and using a crossover point for them around 60-80 Hz.  Higher is better and reduces strain on main amp.
