McIntosh MA 12000 Remote Changing Inputs On My MCD 12000 CD Player

The remote for my McIntosh MA 12000 Integrated amp is changing inputs on my McIntosh MCD 12000 CD/DAC.  How do It make stop?  I want to leave my CD player/Dac on the input of my choosing.  For example, if I am watching tv and want to change the input on the Integrated amp to listen to music, it also changes the input on the CD player so then I have to cycle through the inputs to get the one I want.

mattmiller, There are not any cables connecting the data ports between the two units.  Koestner, I will try that for now.  I did send an email to Audio Classics for help.  I sent the CD player there to get it updated, and when I got it back it started behaving this way.  Not sure what they did.  Thanks guys!

Both units use the same remote codes, hence the issue.

Try to use alternate IR codes on one of the remotes to prevent interference between both units in one room. The procedure described in the remote manual.

I own all McIntosh equipment from Preamp to Streamer DAC that also includes a MCD550 SAD/CD Player. After buying the CS200 streamer did I have conflict with remotes. I went to my McIntosh Manuals which showed how to change the IR remote response to the individual units and or maintain contol with the individual remotes. I find it frustrating that each unit comes with a that are difficult to coordinate. Once I did those steps it was a relief of frustration of the battle of remote signaling. If you haven’t already, give it a try…
