@audioman58 Almost all YouTube reviewers only make videos and review things they like so of course his reviews are going to be positive. They don't put out reviews of things they don't like. Huff says that he doesn't do reviews of everything he gets. I assume that a lot of stuff is pretty good one way or another so he probably is going to like most stuff.
What I look for in a reviewer are (1) honesty with problems with products even if the review is mostly problems, (2) willingness to review budget items, (3) comparisons to more expensive, less expensive and more known items, and (4) not going gaga about items if they don't deserve it.
I find Steve Huff fairly measured and fits in the criteria I set forth above. In fact, a lot of YouTube reviewers are pretty good with these criteria. Additionally, the reviewers do not have experience with everything out there so their knowledge and comparisons are going to be limited because of their limitations with items.
Even if Steve Huff is excited about an item he usually provides the ballpark he's excited about. He recently reviewed the Garlubidor Divinity Dac and raved about it but made sure the viewer understood the limitations of his review. He didn't claim that it was as good as the best dacs out there but he said it was good enough to be all most of us who aren't made of money need. I trusted him on it and bought the dac and I was not disappointed at all.
