I agree, @gsherman . They really perform well for such little guys. I am sorry you couldn’t hang on to yours, but i understand that just keeping them in storage for hopes of a future use would be a tough proposition to accept.
Is there a better all-in-one streamer/DAC/Integrated Amp under USD 5K?
For driving a pair of small, 4 ohm 86 dB speakers (DALI Menuet SE) for a small to medium size room at low to moderate SPLs, is there a Roon Ready, all-in-one streamer/DAC/Integrated Amp under USD 5K that is likely to perform sonically better than the Gato DIA 250S NPM?

The Advance Paris integrated amps check all the boxes. They are hybrid with Tube pre-amp section. I would also seriously look at the Moon by Simaudio as they seem to have a great following. Those are made in Canada, so I'm not sure of the affect of tariffs. PS Audio makes an integrated with DAC and phono stage, but no streamer for $3500. It's a Colorado company. You could add a nice streamer only for the $1,500. Good luck and let us know what you find!

@cooperdude6 gato dia-400 NSM is on the way from Denmark. |
Post is a month old, but was reading and thought I'd chime in. I have a Naim Uniti Star running Goldenear Reference speakers. These are large floor standers but the Naim handles them quite well. It would be a great all-in-one for smaller speakers. Naim AB amps have a clean response yet handle deep bass quite well. I appreciate multiple component systems but went the other direction and am quite pleased with the results. |
Thanks, @bipestuff . I am hoping this thread will be a sort of compendium of useful suggestions for folks in the future who may also be looking for good all-in-one digital packages. (My Gato DIA 400S NPM has just been playing for less than a week, but it really sounds amazing. Many reports are that it needs significant break in time; if that proves to be true and it improves from here, it will truly be a star.) Kind of cool that there are so many good all-in-one available these days. |
