used power amp under 1500

I started with a great system and I managed to downgrade it to an OK sound through a lot of trades, sales, questionable decisions and shrinking budget. (No regrets, it's been a fun journey.) I ended up with very low sensitivity, hard to drive speakers and now I need more power. Will 100 Watts be enough and is it OK and safe to buy used? Any brands that are a good value at $1500?

I have not taken it to a repair shop yet. I opened it but was afraid to touch it. It turns on intermittently, I am waiting until it dies completely. It certainly soured my relationship with it, I don't blame the seller but it taught me a lesson about the risks of buying used.

I am going to text my repair guy to find out how much it could be (he will tell me he won't know until.... and we both know that even if it's a loose wire, he will say it was a 3 hour job and expensive part: $380) Nature of the beast.

A Belles SA-100 amp just popped up on that other site (USAM) for $1250!

That Belles SA-100 listed on Feb.1st, and it has been repaired.......just say’in......

Thank you @mitchagain and @mrdecibel it looks great, even the inside.

Unfortunately my funds are spent but Belles remains that white whale for me.
