Led Zeppelin II on vinyl

How good or bad are the remastered versions?
This in example…

I know it’s a digital remaster. Worth getting or should I hunt down a reasonably priced (if there is such a thing) US 1969 pressing?

Any thoughts from Zeppelin fans? What versions are good sounding? Not looking to pay obscene amounts of money for this…thanks!

@audphile1  Assuming the people behind this latest pressing have access to the original master tapes, and assuming those tapes are still in good condition, I personally have no issue with the fact there is a digital step in the process.  Newer technology allows things like removal of the slightest amount of tape flutter and other unwanted noise (from what I have read).  Using all the technology that's available today, shouldn't they be able to produce a vinyl product that surpasses anything produced in the past?  There's a reason we're all not still watching old tube TVs.  Why should recorded music be any different.  If the source material is still great, I say bring it on.  The proof of the pudding is in the eating.  Cheers.

@truebluephil ok the one I have now and what I just bought are the presswell pressing company. Based on what I heard even with crackles and pops in my current LP I think it’s fine as a starting point.
Honestly it just kicked my ass. It beat the snot out of every version on Tidal (including MQA) and Qobuz. And my streaming is no slouch by any stretch of imagination.
Lets see what hopefully is a cleaner version of this LP will sound like.

I agree with you. In some instances this is absolutely the case. And I have many examples in my collection.

But here’s the catch…from Acoustic Sounds product page:

Technical note: The new remasters were created from 192 kHz/24 bit digital transfers of the original analogue tapes. The catalog is being remastered now to take advantage of the significant advances in mastering technology that have occurred since 1991.”

And I have listened to every remastered version on streaming. It will be most likely the same master as one of those I heard. Yes - cleaned up, padded to 192/24 and stripped off life. It will without any doubt sound cleaner and quieter than the original pressing but I’m willing to bet the remastered version will bore you while the original will convey a lot more energy and emotion. They just messed up with these remasters.
I would love it if Analogue Productions bought the rights and reissued this as full analog version, similar to what they did with Steely Dan. Man that would be cool.
