cantilever is not straight

The cantilever on my Lyra Kleos is not exactly straight; it is angled slightly to one side, towards the record spindle.  It was retipped once, along with replacing the cantilever, by Soundsmith.  I align to the cantilever, not the body.  I have never been able to successfully use anti-skate with this setup ( Thorens TD-850, Origin Live Conquest arm) for long, because some records will hang up and start endlessly repeating, a problem that doesn't happen if the anti-skate is not engaged.

Should I be concerned?  Will this affect the sound?

Once cartridges have been retipped (by 3rd party) - manufacturer’s typically don’t touch it.  Might have to send it back to Soundsmith or Steve at Vas Audio. I personally don’t like skewed cantilevers and would try and fix it. Also, slightly skewed cantilevers are not rare for Lyra’s - I’ve read of more than a few instances on forums.

After reading this, I would only send it to the maker

"Johnathan Carr himself responded. I suggest you do the same and include Lyra Kleos in the subject line, he may catch it and respond. He is fantastic to deal with and a true professional. Here is his response to me.

"Hi rushfan71: I haven’t received any email from you, but your photos suggest that one of the asymmetrical (IOW pointed or tapered) dampers in the suspension system has rotated away from where it should be, and the cantilever is being pushed away from its proper orientation as a result.

Please contact the dealer that you purchased the Kleos from, who will arrange for the cartridge to be returned to us so that we can readjust the suspension setting and cantilever alignment."
