I had a Hana ML needing retipping, I sent it to Andy Kim (Needle Clinic), and the turnaround time and upgrade were both excellent! I have spent months listening to his upgrade and repair, and can highly recommend him for value, quality, speed, and ease of communication :)

When my Hana ML's stylus wears out, I'm going to trade it in for credit towards a new one.

Trading a Old Cartridge in for a New Replacement Cartridge will get a person a Cartridge with the Companies latest design for the model.

The New Cartridge is highly unlikely to not be the same as the design for the Olden Cartridge.

A refurbishment of a Cartridge sent to the Manufacturer for this purpose, is also unlikely to be a returned Cartridge with all the same parts as the original.

There is small print that clearly states equivalent parts are to be selected.

I doubt if anybody from R&D has spent too much time learning how to optimise the equivalent parts into the Olden design.

What the Customer gets is the satisfaction the Cartridge in need of a Treatment was undertaken by the original producer, maybe not the original assembler or original parts to be replaced.

With a Third Party Service, there is the definite outcome parts selected will be equivalent. There is also the outcome where the selected parts are in many cases well understood and known how to optimise their usage when added to a Cartridge.

The Third Party Service does have its advantages, and should not be overlooked.

Do not forget about Soundsmith as they seem to be back up and running after their forced move. They just shipped back a cart I had sent in for repair the day before the notice of their upcoming move. Enjoy the music

Really? I would think all the parts that make up my Hana ML are proprietary and that no aftermarket or "third party" service would have access to them. Furthermore, how could the techniques and the assembly processes that Hana invented and specializes in for their product line be "well Understood" by a third party? I think you're overreaching and adding to the plethora of misinformation people invent in these forums!
