Wifi vs hardwired for streaming

Best compromise? Wifi with mesh extenders, (eero) OR, a long run of ethernet, purchased at Best Buy...?

First time streamer...Eversolo T8.

I tried the TP-Link setup & didn’t work for me. So I already had a cheap Ethernet cable in my location & upgraded to, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NK8H1Z2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NK8H1Z2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 That gave me a worthwhile change over the cheap run cable. The only way is to do baby steps & see whatever works best for you.

My Wifi was very strong, but from what I’ve read & asked, ’’hardwire is the way to go’’, if you can. It’s also a rabbit hole to get what works  best for your system.

Hello @larseand Hardwire for me.  But for long runs I use a better but not 'break the bank' ethernet cable from Amazon:

LINKUP - [GHMT & DSX8000 Certified Cat8 Ethernet Patch Cable S/FTP 22AWG Double Shielded Solid Cable | 2000MHz 2GHz 40Gbps | 5th-Gen Ethernet LAN Network 40G Structure Wires |Yellow| 15 M (50ft)

Get the 22 AWG not 26 AWG.  Available in many lengths for reasonable, and to me much better than standard fare.

oh also, avoid cheap wall connector plates.  I run the long cable 'through the wall, avoiding the barrel connector.  I recommend a better cable (or ethernet filter) just prior to the streamer.  If you need a junction, I recommend these from JCAT:

I am WiFi over mesh with a LAN connection from a mesh node to my Eversolo A8.
