Odd missing vocals?

Bedroom system - Bluesound Node to a Rotel RB-1070 to KEF Q150s. Streaming from Qobuz Bee Gees Nights on Broadway. SQ is ok, not stellar, and something seems amiss. I realize I can’t hear Barry Gibb’s falsetto “echo vocals.” You know, on the refrain “blaming it all….blame it on the nights on broadway…”

I played three different tracks of the same song - same thing. Listened to it just on my iPhone, and it plays normally. Any ideas? The Node has always been fine with an old receiver as the amp. Could this older Rotel have a problem? It just seems so weird.

@yogiboy thanks for the suggestion! I’m out of town now for a few days but will try that right away. I also wondered if turning the max gain way down on the Node might have had something to do with it.  But your suggestion makes more sense…I think.

In my experience, it’s likely the amp.  I’d test with another one for improvements.

It may be a frequency range that is a null point in your room. Try listening up very close to the speaker and see if it's coming out but disappearing as you move away.
